Barry Dorn has been a fully qualified professional Toastmaster and MC for over 25 years. He was President of the Association in 1992/93 and was Social Secretary for 11 years and the Association's Treasurer for 7 years. He was made a Life Vice-President of the Association in the autumn of 2008. He is a Freeman of the City of London and an active life member of the Guild of Freemen. In addition he has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing for over 30 years.

He has been closely involved in the detailed organisation of a wide variety of events since his teens and is considered an expert on protocol, procedure and etiquette.
His considerable wealth of experience (both in the UK and abroad) covers a wide range of functions of nearly every type, including:

• Banquets, Dinner/Dances, Charity Balls
• Rotary, Round Table, Masonic and Lions dinner/dances
• Trade shows, Exhibitions, Conferences and Product Launches
• Wedding Receptions for a wide variety of religious persuasions.
• Topping Out and Opening Ceremonies
• Coming of Age celebrations (including Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Hyels)
• Anniversary Parties
• City functions

Barry works with all the major hotels and banqueting houses in London and in a great variety of establishments over the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, as well as overseas. He is moderately fluent in French.
